Talk about speedwork!!

Tonite D and I headed out for a training walk. The first part was pretty slow as we went a gradual uphill for the first part. We got 1.5 miles out and I saw lightning. Great. We sped up, I started praying like crazy, as we were going. Unfortunately, I know myself, so I didn't start running...yet. I didn't figure I had the stamina to make it 1.5 miles if most of it was running, and had a feeling I'd pass out first...lol

However, at 3/4th mile left to go, the lightning seemed to be right over head. And I average an 18-19 minute mile.

By the time we hit 1/2 a mile left, I was getting very concerned we weren't gonna make it. So we stuck to under the trees on the way, and I started running in the open spaces. I also learned very quickly why runners lock the front wheel. lol My iphone hit the ground with THAT lesson but fortunately its fine.

We made it home safely PRAISE THE LORD and ended up having done 3.03 miles. My heart was pounding out of my chest from the run/walking, but I feel good now about it. I'm glad we got out there and did it despite the impending storm (which I didn't realize was NEAR that close).
