A rough day

Today was pretty rough. AF was doing a real number on my hormones, making me very emotional and just feeling depressed all day long. It royally sucked. I can't stand feeling like that.

As a consequence, my input is low. I really didn't feel like eating this morning, though I did have a caprisun so I wasn't lightheaded after my biking and then a little before lunch, made myself eat a fiber one bar. I had a late lunch of two chicken tacos from Taco Bell. (It's not a GOOD thing that they are now on the 89 cent menu...lol) For an afternoon snack, I had a tbsp of peanut butter to see if that would help. It didn't. Dinner was Birds Eye 3 Cheese chicken skillet meal. I had watermelon and the rest of the grapes this evening to end my day at 1210 calories.

Output: I got up this morning and did 30 minutes on the bike. I wanted to do more but hit snooze one too many times. This afternoon, I got in a 10 minute walk around the building to see if that would help my mood, and sadly, it didn't help either. Guess I just need to wait it out. This evening I did another 30 minutes on the bike. D and I both had rough days, he went to bed early, and I had frustrations to work out. :(

Kickin booty day

Well...AF was...and it was MY booty bein kicked. All. Day. Long. It sucked.

Since it was quite the rough day, most of the morning I really didn't feel like eating at all. So I had nothing til lunchtime, and then it was a yogurt and a cheese cracker snack mix baggie. My afternoon snack was a tbsp of peanut butter and then for dinner we had nekkid chicken strips from Popeyes with mashed tatoes, and yeah, I had the biscuit since I was so low on cals...lol My evening snack was grapes and a 100 cal bag of popcorn to end my day at 1231 calories.

Output was light but I did get my hour in. This morning, I got up early and did 35 minutes on the bike. Then this afternoon I got in a 10 minute walk around the building, and this evening did another 20 minutes on the bike. There will be no 3 mile walking for another couple days or so til AF is gone. :( I miss it.

Quiet, stay at home day

Which was badly needed after yesterday! We left twice to go grab food (in serious need of a good grocery run...lol) but otherwise lounged all day. I'm pretty sure I was dehydrated after yesterday and just whipped, so I needed it. I had a headache most of the afternoon/evening so laid around watching episodes of Law and Order: SVU...lol Thats my fave version of L&O.

I woke up starving this morning after not eating enough so D and I hit up Burger King for breakfast. I got a sausage/cheese croissanwich, a bacon wrap, and small hashbrowns. Yeah, not great choices, and I so could have done better elsewhere...lol Oh well. I didn't eat anything else til dinner, except a Capri-Sun juice pouch. Dinner was a chicken nugget kids meal at Wendys with some ketchup to end my day at 1635 calories. Not awful on cals for a weekend day, but I feel like BLAH.

Output: not much, with the headache and AF going, I really didn't feel up to walking 3 miles this morning. Unfortunately, Fridays are my real "off" days, so I still did 30 min on the bike this evening once my headache finally dimmed a bit, while watching a movie. Today is just going to have to be my half day for the week. It does mean I'll have to have a full hour each day up until Friday, but thats ok.

In exactly 3 months...

I'll be walking a half marathon! Well, hopefully by this time I will be DONE walking a half marathon...lol Yup, its on September 27th, and I am so excited!

My training buddy and I hit the trail this morning at 6am to get in our 6 mile walk. I had no specific goal on time, although I was hoping to get it in under 2 hours. And score! We did it with 4 minutes to spare...lol But I will say, that did include a bit of slow down a few times as kid's needs required (we had 3 kids with us, 2 on scooters and D in his stroller). Not enough to really make a big difference, but we probably could have shaved off a couple minutes from that if we'd been super focused and not talking...lol. But what fun is that??? Regardless, I am giddy. lol It rocks to meet a new personal record for distance walked EVERY SINGLE WEEK! I love it!

Ok food eaten today...I'm posting this kinda early in the day, so will have to come back and edit it. But before the walk, I had a Fiber One bar, and then Gatorade throughout the walk. After it, we hit up IHOP, where I had a Senior Omelette (don't laugh) with bacon, cheese, and salsa. Only difference, its a 2 egg, not a 3 egg omelette. And then 1.5 slices of whole wheat toast with some butter and jam. Yummy and no way could I have eaten more! Dinner was at Celebrate Freedom. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza and a margarita flavored snocone. When we got home after midnite, I had another Gatorade to end my day at 1678 calories. Kinda low actually for my output today, but its ok.

Output: an almost 2 hour, 6 mile walk. We spent the evening/lateeeee evening out at Celebrate Freedom (from about 430 til midnight), and I am EXHAUSTED. But I'm excited because I beat another record for cals burned. At midnight, my count was at 5047 calories burned! OMG! It makes me REALLY glad that D and I can chill at home and sleep in on Sunday morning!

A light day

Since tomorrow is going to be our 6 mile walk, and its my off day anyway, I kept it light today. I did really up my water intake though, felt like I was floating away all day!

Breakfast was a Fiber One bar. Lunch was a Weight Watchers ziti meal and some Bugles. My afternoon snack was a fat free yogurt. Dinner was a CFA Kids Meal with ketchup, and then some grapes in the evening to end my day at 1220 calories.

Output, not a thing and it rocked.

Almost the weekend

So close, yet so far. Only one more day but that still seems like forever! lol Today was a decent day at work aside from the construction going on in the office behind me which made me think they were going to come right through the wall at some point! Yeah I had to leave my office a few times before I ended up rocking in a corner.

I ate decent today, though I did have a rough time deciding on dinner, and really wanted a burger. More on that in a sec. Breakfast was a Fiber One bar. Then my morning snack was a Slimfast bar. Lunch was a Lean Cuisine pizza, and my afternoon snack was a fat free yogurt. Dinner was...well...a burger. But I did ok. We went to Braums and I gotta kids meal with ketchup only on the cheeseburger, and kids fries with a bit of ketchup. After our walk, I had a Gatorade and some grapes to end my day at 1370 calories.

Output: I did 3 minutes at lunch time of lunges while waiting on my food to heat up. Then this evening we did a 54 minute 3 mile walk. Then I did a few minutes of stretching to finish my day.

An ok day...

I had a better day today than yesterday. I gave myself the leniency to have something I'd been wanting but can't usually have due to the diet, not a "splurge" per se, but it wasn't something I normally allow myself.

I had a chocolate donut for breakfast. My coworker brought them in for his birthday, and I looked at my Fiber One bar, looked at the donut, looked up cals, and then swapped out the Fiber bar for the donut. And it was totally worth it. lol A bit later, I had half a banana (cause the other half was YUCKY). Lunch was a Weight Watchers Ziti meal. My afternoon snack was a fat free yogurt. Dinner was Taco Bell. I didn't have the strength to resist going but I didn't do BAD. I ended up having a pintos n cheese, and 2 chicken soft tacos. Later in the evening, I had a packet of instant oatmeal (don't ask why, it sounded good at the time...lol) to end my day at 1376 calories.

Output: got up early this morning and did the 32 minute WATP. This evening, D and I did about 30 minutes of a fast jam session. We were both sweaty and giggly when it was over, I think we both needed that!

What an evening...

It was a crappy evening. Nuff said.

I did get a 3 mile walk in though this evening. Its still taking me 54 minutes even. And I'm ok with that. It's really becoming my time to pray, be in my own thoughts, and really reflect. I've begun craving that time and really miss it on the days we don't walk.

A day of rest...at work...

Today was my rest day from our crazy weekend. It was actually nice to sit all day even though I was super tired, lol...

Obviously with the weekend being so high in cals, I kept today light. Breakfast was a Sweet and Salty peanut granola bar. Lunch was a Weight Watchers ziti meal and then a Slimfast bar. My afternoon snack was a fatfree yogurt. Dinner was a CFA Grilled chicken sandwich, plain, on a regular bun, and a side salad with light italian. For dessert, I had a CFA kids icedream cone to end my day at 1210 calories.

Output: today was my half day so I got in a 30 minute brisk walk this evening at the mall. I was def sweating from it.

What happens on a splurge weekend...

STAYS on a splurge weekend. Yeah, thats right, weekend. It was supposed to be just a splurge day today for D's birthday (my sweet boy is now 5 years old!!!), but yesterday there was so much good food, and I had so little strength with the craziness going on, to fight it. I ate REALLY good this weekend, and finally stopped logging it yesterday around dinnertime...lol It was a bad two days foodwise, but I'm trying to tell myself, it was JUST two days, and tomorrow, I will be back at work, back on routine, and can buckle down and keep it a light week to compensate. I AM struggling tonite with the aftereffects of all the food, but am kinda feeling ill about it all, so it will be nice to get back into the groove of things.

Output this weekend, I did my 3 miles yesterday morning with my friend/training partner Jenn, before we headed out of town. And then this morning, my stepmom Liz, D and I hit up Lake Hefner in OKC for a 5 mile walk! I did it in 1:31 and was quite proud of that, esp considering that even though there were no hills, on the first half of the walk, we had the wind right in our faces, and it was quite windy! It was nice to turn around and head back! I was so proud of myself, my time was just a smidge less than my typical 3 mile walk on average, but it wasn't that much. Which means I hardly slowed it down! 5 miles is the most I've ever walked, and its been neat to hit these accomplishments every Sunday and know that most every Sunday, I will hit a new accomplishment, makes it worth it!

D's birthday party!

Such a fun day! We hit up the pool this evening with some wonderful friends to celebrate D's upcoming birthday and had a blast! Special thanks go to Beth for making a crazy cute cake!!

My food was decent today. Breakfast was a Slimfast bar, and then abit later in the morning, some Bugles. Then I had a dizzy spell so I had a tbsp of peanut butter. I hate those! And I know it was because the Bugles were SO not substantial. Oh well. Lunch was a South Beach pizza, and my afternoon snack was a fatfree yogurt. Dinner was a 6 piece chicken nuggets from CFA and some grapes I got from the store. Then I had a yummy piece of cake, and late last night when I had a massive carb craving, I had a cup of instant rice, with a bit of garlic salt for flavoring, to end my day at 1499 calories.

Output, today was my off day (although I did get all nice and sweaty at the pool!) and it sure was nice.

Busy busy day!

I took the day off work today as we had lots of stuff to do. D had two doc appts this morning/midday. One was with the ENT, where he said D still has negative pressure behind his ear. We go back in a month, and if its still there, D will have to get tubes put in. The second doc appt was a mole removal on his head at his pedi. They debated cutting it off, but wisely decided to freeze it off instead. Then this evening, we joined some friends (D got to invite 2 of his fave buddies) at a play in Arlington. It was called Go Dog Go, and was pretty cute! I think the kids all enjoyed it, I know D did. So it was a long busy day, but it was a good day regardless!

I think I ate pretty decent today. I tried to keep it semilow even though my cals burned are high. Before our walk this morning, I had 1/2 a pbj and a bottle of gatorade. Then, "breakfast", which was after our walk and after the first doc appt, was at McDonalds. I got a sausage cheese mcmuffin, no egg. McDs isn't really a place that I crave so I felt safe enough going there, and made sure to scour the menu for what would be a decent bfast option well ahead of time. Midafternoon, I had a string cheese. Then dinner was at Jasons Deli. I had a Kids mac n cheese, and salad bar (romaine lettuce, asiago cheese, and light ranch) with a side of grilled chicken (and some light ranch to dip that in). And then a chocolate frozen yogurt cone there to end my day at 1354 calories.

Output: Did a 3 mile walk at 6:45 this morning, which took 56 minutes. Yes it was slower, but I also just did 3 miles last night too and am developing a callus on one of my toes which hurts!! And that slowed me down. It's ok though, I was proud of myself for getting out there again. But will definitely be glad for an off day tomorrow!!! lol I did get in about 5 minutes of stretching so I rounded out the hour for today.

A belated walk day

Well since we didn't get in an outdoor walk yesterday, I got it in this evening. And omg it was HOT out there! We left at 6:20pm, I was afraid to wait much longer, didn't want D getting too tired. And I was dying. WHEW. But I did it in the same time as usual, which rocked!

Food today, I let it go a bit higher since we had a long outdoor walk. Breakfast was a Fiber One bar. I had a morning snack of a Slimfast Protein bar. Lunch was a South Beach pizza and baked chips. Afternoon snack was a fatfree yogurt. Before the walk I had 1/2 a pbj sandwich. And then after our walk, I had a 10oz bottle of gatorade, and then I had Special K waffles with light syrup to end my day at 1374 calories.

Output: a 3 mile 53.5 minute walk was this evening. Then I did 5 minutes of stretching to work out my leg muscles, they were stiff. I need to make up another 1.5 minutes for a full hour but will do about 10 minutes of cardio dance here in a bit to get the rest of me stretched out.

Another light day

I kept today light again. Partly as penitence for what I ate on Sunday, but partly because I really do have a big weekend coming up. I figure a few days of really low will be just fine.

Breakfast was a Slimfast Choc Peanut nougat bar. Then a midmorning snack of a tbsp of peanut butter. Lunch was a Weight Watchers ziti meal and a baggie of baked chips. I had an afternoon snack of a fatfree yogurt. Dinner was a Birds Eye Voila 3 Cheese Chicken skillet meal. Chicken, pasta, broccoli, carrots and corn in a cheese sauce. This one was really good as well! I liked the chicken in it better than the Stouffers one. My dessert this evening was a Slimfast crispy peanut caramel bar to end my day at 1210 calories.

Output: nothing yet. D went to bed early throwing fits after dinner (he had a rough day), so I can't go walk 3 miles. I ended up doing 30 minutes on the treadmill and 30 min on the stationary bike this evening, and I'm tired!

Monday, June 15, 2009

A light day

With yesterday being a fail day, I made today a light day to help compensate.

For breakfast, I had a Fiber One bar. I had a midmorning snack of a tbsp of peanut butter. Lunch was a South Beach pepperoni pizza, and then my afternoon snack was a fat free yogurt. Dinner was Stouffers Easy Express chicken alfredo. It was pretty good! My evening snack was a Slimfast protein bar to end my day at 1215 calories.

Output: I did 30 minutes of cardio dance this evening. It's a half day for me since I just did 4 miles yesterday, and I was glad to not have to workout a whole hour!

Sunday, June 14, 2009

A fail day

I totally blew the diet today. Like, I totally went down in flames, fell off the wagon and got run over by it. I took D to Souper Salad for dinner this evening, and I think I knew going into it, what was going to happen. There were so many moments where I knew what I was doing, and should have run like hell, but didn't. I beat myself up over it the rest of the evening, and I will say, it was very difficult to admit to having done it. But I finally made myself tell my awesome accountability peeps, because I know how the diet regression spiral starts. And I'm not going there.

Writing this the day after it happened, I'm feeling ok about it now. I made myself write down everything I ate which was a huge help, as I could tell I wanted to rationalize that it wasn't "that bad". Yeah, it was bad. And totally not worth it, I mean, it was Souper Salad of all places! lol

Other than that, I had a decent day. D and I walked our 4 miles for the training (well, I walked, D rode in style...lol), and it took me 77 minutes. It was our first "official" day of half marathon training which I was excited about. I was a minute slower than last week but thats ok. Considering I didn't even get home til 230am and was TIRED, I think thats pretty good...lol

Busy saturdays...

I always feel like we have to cram in 20 million things on Saturdays since we don't have time during the week to do them! It keeps us running, but I enjoy it!!

Today we hit up an event at Northpark called Stephanie's Day, it was for special needs kids. D had an awesome time, esp getting to meet cheerleaders and play the drums during music therapy. Then we went swimming and to a movie later. Yeah, we crammed! LOL

It was a good food day too. I know I have a long week/next weekend of crap food possibilities with D's birthday coming up in ONE WEEK so I kept today on the light side for a saturday. Breakfast was a Slimfast bar and gatorade before our walk, and then an IHOP Baby Cakes meal with sugar free syrup afterward. Lunch was only half of a pbj sandwich since we had a late breakfast. Dinner was the CFA Kids Meal that we didn't get last night, with some ketchup. At the movies, I had some popcorn and a pickle. And then later, a fudgsicle to end my day at 1531 calories.

Output, lots. We did our 3 mile walk (I'm still at a consistent 54 minute pace). And then a 1 hour swim in the afternoon.

Friday, June 12, 2009

Yay for an off day!

It was SO NICE to have a day off from exercise today!! I know my body needed it. I really did try to make it a light day calorie wise too to offset it. Breakfast was a Fiber One bar. Lunch was a Weight Watchers ziti meal and then 3/4th of a 100 cal bag of popcorn for an afternoon snack. Dinner was at TGI Fridays for a mini Jonathans Place reunion. We had such a great time! I got the Dragon Fire Chicken, which was ok. The chicken and sauce was GREAT, the broccoli was...ok (considering I don't like broccoli, I ate it anyway), and the rice had some funky stuff in it, so I didn't much of that. After that, we hit up Braums where I had a kids cup of cappuccino chunky choc ice cream and half a banana. Then for an evening snack I had a Slimfast snack bar to end my day at exactly 1200 calories. I couldn't have planned it better if I'd tried!

Output: ZIP ZERO NADA ZILCH. And I enjoyed every minute of it!

Another ENT visit

We went back to the ENT this morning and good news, D's ear drum is healed!!! Which means he can SWIM! That is awesome news for this weekend and next (his pool party playdate!). There was one thing that concerned the ENT but that will have to wait til we go back to recheck.

It was a good eating day I think. I had 1/2 of a pbj before we went to the ENT. Lunch was a Lean Cuisine pizza and Quaker Mini Delites. My afternoon snack was a tbsp of peanut butter. Before/during my walk, I had a small bottle of Gatorade. Dinner was at Chuys. I'd never been there before, and it was GOOD! I was a good girl though. I got the TexMex Salad Combo, which was a kids size quesadilla and a big salad (romaine/tomato/no cheese) with ranch dressing. I did have a few chips and salsa to end my day at 1367 calories. See? Yay! And it was a YUMMMY dinner! I'd totally get that again.

Output: I got in my 3 mile walk this evening before we ate. It took 54 minutes even again, and then I did 4 minutes of stretching and cool down, plus a few minutes of light lunges before we started the walk.

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Stormy evening...

We had some really bad storms here tonite! They hit right after I put D to bed which worked out perfect for him, he was fast asleep, and slept all night through it all, I couldn't believe it!

Today was a decent food day. Breakfast was a Fiber One bar. Lunch was a Weight Watchers ziti meal, plus green beans and a quaker mini delites pack. My afternoon snack was almonds and half a 3 Musketeers, I gave the other half to my coworker. Dinner was a lastminute meet up with a friend at Souper Salad. I did good! I had 2 slices of their pizza, plus a breadstick, a little bit of mac n cheese, a big salad with light ranch, and then some ice cream. Yum! I ended my day at 1393 calories.

Output: 10 minutes of squats throughout the day (only 2 sets of the 4 that Bob's Challenge wanted...lol) plus the 32 minute WATP in the evening, and then about 20 minutes of cardio dance before bed to finish my day. I even ended up going to bed early, I was so tired!!! I'm glad I did, it was a long night of storms, and I was woken up quite a few times.

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

A neuro visit day...

D and I went to see his neurologist today for our every 4 months visit. He told me some things I "knew" already about D, but wasn't quite prepared to HEAR. So I came away from it abit disappointed. I won't go into detail, but ask if you wanna know.

Today is a semi-light day for me since yesterday was a splurge day. For breakfast I had a Fiber One Oats and Caramel bar. Lunch was a Lean Cuisine pizza, with baked chips and a Quaker mini delights. Before the neuro appt, I had a string cheese. When we got home, I had 1/2 a pbj before our walk, and then after the walk, I had the other half, plus one more half cause I was really hungry, and couldn't think of anything else I wanted! lol I ended my day at 1285 calories.

Output: a 54 minute three mile walk this evening. I did 3 minutes of stretching afterward. My abs are pretty sore from yesterday's ab/back workout, but it worked out ok. I couldn't feel them much during the walk, and my lower back never started aching either so that was great!

Monday, June 8, 2009

A splurge day!

And you know what that means! A weigh-in comes too...I will say I was a bit disappointed in it, only 6 lbs in almost a month, BUT yesterday was a high salt day. I had pickles last night, and it was my 4 mile walk day, so I guess its understandable. I can't wait til D's birthday to weigh in again and see if timing helps. And its still about 1.5 lbs a week, so I don't guess I can complain too much. It's a loss! I was just really hoping to be back in the 250s again. But that's ok.

Well, like my title says, we had our splurge today and it was at lunchtime at Manny's. We LOVE their chicken enchiladas and I haven't had them in FOREVER since those are def not on the safe list. YUM! For breakfast I just had a granola bar. Lunch at Manny's was two chicken enchiladas (made with flour tortillas, not corn), rice, and some chips and salsa. I had an afternoon snack of almonds. Dinner was a CFA kids meal since I still had the calories and we had to eat quickly to go by the store and get D in bed at a decent time. My evening snack was a Quaker Mini Delites baggy to end my day at 1886 calories. Thats great for a splurge day!

Output: since yesterday was my long day, today was a half/light day of workout for me. I did a 16 minute Ab/Back workout that I found on On Demand (I need to be strengthening both of those), and then some Wii Sports to loosen up (boxing and tennis).

Sunday, June 7, 2009

Milestone days...

Today was a big day in more than one way...I hit a big goal that I'm pretty excited about, but also started the long Sundays of this half marathon training. It wasn't too much of a jump, 4 miles, but it felt like a big accomplishment to me, its more than I've walked before in my whole life in one stretch. So I was feeling good about that. It really wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. Since the last mile was a new stretch of ground for us, it went by really quickly. I was tired and sweaty as all get out, but I felt good and still do this evening.

I originally intended to keep today low caloriewise since tomorrow is a splurge day, but with the long walk, I was HUNGRY today...lol I did keep it under control though, and I think ate decently enough. Breakfast before the walk was half an english muffin with a little butter and some grapes. Lunch was at my grandmas. They ordered in pizza today (only pan crust...sheesh, no thin crust), so I had 1.5 pieces (got a regular size piece, and then the smallest one possible which was about half its size), plus blackeyed peas, some lowfat cottage cheese and a lettuce/tomato salad with light ranch. For an afternoon snack, they had cherry sugar cookies that my aunt brought from a bakery, but I split one with D. For dinner, I took D to Jasons Deli. I had a kids mac n cheese bowl, with a side of grilled chicken (that I shared half with D), a big romaine salad with some cheese and lowfat ranch, plus a chocolate ice cream cone. I originally got a kids cup of unsweetened tea and added sweet n low to it, but it turned out to be sweet tea to begin with, so I had about 8 oz of sweet tea as well to end my day at 1688 calories.

Output: a 4 mile walk today that took an hour and 17 minutes. So I was good to go for the rest of the day. I didn't do a whole lot else today, just went to my grandmas and hung out, and then came home and hung out some more, and took D to dinner, no store visits or anything, I'm currently at 3210 cals with about 3.5 hours in the day to go. I'm guessing I'll be around 3600-3700 cals burned today but will update tomorrow.

Waking up is hard to do...

D and I got up early and hit the road for a good walk at 7am. We haven't stopped moving since. Well, I haven't, D copped a nap at the mall...lol But we had good, albeit busy, day. I got D his birthday gift today. He got 2 hermit crabs and all the rigmarole that goes with them. Obviously, pics are on his blog. Did you even need to ask? You should know me by now...lol And if you don't, well...here's the link: D's Adventure Blog. Now you know.

Food, I was good today. Before our walk I had some grapes. We hit up Dennys for breakfast. I got an original Grand Slam but with egg whites and sugar free syrup. I did end up miscalculating it by about 100 cals, the sausage killed me, next time, I'll get extra bacon instead, much less cals if I really want meat! But it was YUM. D asked me why my eggs were white and his were yellow, he's so observant! After that, we hit up walmart real quick, and then the mall, where I had a kids cone from CFA. Nothing else til dinner, which was at Beth's (thanks, Beth, it was a great meal, and one I have missed!). We had her yummy enchiladas, and I had salad with light ranch, then some raspberry sherbet and strawberries. I had a few sips of a Mikes LIGHT Hard Lemonade before coming home (those are only 98 cals! So my few sips was like 24 max...lol) to end my day at 1580 calories. Not too bad for a saturday!

Output: LOTS. Like I said, we got up to walk 3 miles at 7am. It took 54 minutes, but I then did 4 minutes of stretching afterward. Then we hit up Walmart, then the mall. Then home for a bit, then Walmart again where I had a brisk 5 minute walk around the perimeter of the inside to finish up my day. I hit a new record tonite!! I have now burned over 4000 cals officially! I know I've done it before with swimming, but haven't seen it on my GWF. I had to do about 5 minutes of cardio dance at 11:50 this evening to throw it over...lol but it happened! I ended my day at 4013 cals burned...WOOT!

Friday, June 5, 2009

A day of transition...and it was not good...

Yeah, D threw a massive fit this morning when going to daycare, because he no longer goes to PPCD for the summer, and so doesn't get to take a backpack anymore. Yup, ya gotta love the routine change! Fortunately, he settled down soon after I left and had a decent day. Until this evening when he banged his head on the wall, opened up the mole on his forehead and bled all over the place. That sucker was small but MAN did it bleed! The whole side of his face was covered in blood!! Acck! But I got that all cleaned up, and him in the bed happily asleep. I'm glad he hasn't been fighting the ear drops we have to do twice a day. He's so complacent about meds usually, I love that!

Food today: breakfast was a granola bar. Lunch was a hodgepodge of things since I need to go to the store! I had a tbsp of peanutbutter, Kosher dill chips, grapes, and a 100 cal pack of choc covered pretzels. I had an afternoon snack of almonds. Dinner was our weekly CFA Kids Meal with ketchup, and then I had another 100 cal pack of choc pretzels this evening to end my day at 1321 calories.

Output: today is my rest day so yay no workout. But tomorrow is 3 miles and Sunday is 4 miles! So I'm def resting today for a lot of walking this weekend.

A goodbye to Pre-K

So my sweet boy finished Pre-K today, and is officially a kindergartner now! I dunno how well I'm dealing with this, was an emotional mess earlier, but I'll get past it. I'm proud that I didn't over eat to compensate. As usual, there are pics on D's blog...well, one pic, of him and his teacher.

Foodwise, I did good today. I had a granola bar and grapes for breakfast. Lunch was leftover chicken and rice from my grandma's on Sunday, and a 100 cal choc covered pretzel pack. No afternoon snack. Dinner was at Jason's Deli to treat D, I got a big salad with some cheese and light ranch, plus a side of grilled chicken. And of course, an ice cream cone! Yes, D got one too to celebrate graduation preschool. After our walk this evening, I had some Quaker rice snacks to end my day at 1374 calories. I'm glad I added the chicken last minute, needed the protein!

Output: we did a 59 minute three mile walk this evening. Its a bit slower than our previous two on this route, but thats ok. We did stop for a bit to chat with a friend as we passed their house and it was REALLY hard to get started back in a groove after that, so I know that slowed our time. It's ok though, we aren't worried about timing right now, just consistent distance! I did do a few minutes of crunches this evening just to even out my time. Tomorrow is a rest day for me, YAY, no workout!

Prepping for my baby's last day as a preschooler...

This evening, I had to get stuff ready to take to D's school tomorrow. Its his last *sniff* day of Pre-K, and we are celebrating his summer birthday as well. What was going to be triple berry muffins with 'D''s in icing on them, well, turned out not so much, because the muffin tin I thought I had, would not appear anywhere. And by the time I realized it, D was already in bed and asleep. So I made the most of what I had. And made this:

A muffin cake. lol It smelled good at least, my whole house smelled DIVINE! I debated how to package it along with the grapes I was taking for the kids, and finally decided to use a plastic scrapbook storage container I have. It fit perfectly! I went ahead and cut it into 16 pieces, and then I used the paper muffin tin liners I had gotten, as holders for the grapes, and it all fit perfectly.

Ok so I'm not the most domestic chick in the world. But give me props for TRYING. At least it was semi-healthy for the kiddos!

Ok on to MY food today. It started with a Quaker lowfat granola bar for breakfast. Then a mid morning snack (almost to lunch) of 100 cal choc covered pretzels. Lunch was tuna and miracle whip, with kosher dill chips. In the afternoon, despite oddly enough the pretzels from earlier, I was hit with a MAD chocolate craving. I was seriously about to gnaw my arm off and stick it up the vending machine. Ok not really, but close! So to compromise and kill the craving, I got a package of M&Ms but split them with a coworker. Whew! Crisis averted. Abit later I had a Special K protein bar. Dinner was half a Tony's Cheese frozen pizza and corn. Yes, I very much have a kids palate. Oh well, when you've been up and running since 530am and at work all day, dealing with hassles there, you just don't have the ENERGY to whip up a fancy meal, or even really any kind of meal, I'm just happy if we don't eat out! Dessert this evening was Quaker rice snacks cheddar cheese flavor, and a few grapes I filched from above, I had bought PLENTY, to end my day at 1331 calories.

Output: I got up this morning and did the 32 min WATP, since its not a walking training day. Then I did get in a 10 minute walk at work in my work shoes (which is quite difficult but my crocs were at home), just to get a bit more time out of the way. This evening, I did 20 minutes of cardio dance to finish up my day.

Our ENT visit...and back to walking...

So we went to the new ENT today. I really liked him, and think he was very thorough in talking to me to get the full history and looking at D. He did say that he still can't see D's eardrum, but it is likely busted, and that the "foreign object" does look like maybe a piece of gauze that some ENTs pack in the nose during surgery. D is now on ear drops twice a day and we go back next week for another follow up.

Today was a walk training day, and it felt so good to be back on it after not walking Sat and Sun due to the evilness that is AF. I very much enjoyed it even though we didn't go til late and it was dark...yikes! D fell asleep before I hit a mile, so I was able to just walk and listen to my music. AND, its been neat to see my MPH go up this past week or so. I started at 3.11 mph and am now at 3.41! I'm not even trying to speed up, its just happening naturally. I love it!!!

On to food...it ended up being a light day since I left work early to go to ENT with D, but I think I made some decent choices (though I did have something yummy this evening, I countered it with healthyish). Breakfast was a Quaker lowfat granola bar. Lunch was tuna with miracle whip, kosher dill chips, and almonds. My afternoon snack was a Special K protein bar. Dinner was at Chilis. I got the kids grilled chicken but also had french fries, with a side of light ranch and some ketchup. This evening after my walk I had some Quaker Rice Snacks (Cheddar Cheese flavor) and a 100 cal pack of choc covered pretzels to end my day at 1286 calories.

Output: I took an almost 3 mile walk for training this evening (miscalculated by just a smidge!! It ended up being 2.89 miles, blech) but it took 51 minutes. I then did 10 minutes of cardio dance this evening to make up the rest of my time. I'm TIRED! I burned 3601 cals today. Yay!

Another update on D

Today D's ear started bleeding. I'm guessing the infection is now moving out which is good. The school nurse who called me said she's also pretty certain that his ear drum is perforated. :( Poor guy. We go to the new ENT tomorrow for a follow up, so I'll know more then about whats going on.

Today was a light day food-wise as I'm using it as my half day for the exercise challenge. Low cals out, low cals in. It evens out. Breakfast was a lowfat granola bar. Lunch was a Weight Watchers Ziti meal, kosher dill chips, and almonds. My afternoon snack was a Special K protein bar. Dinner was chicken sauteed in zesty italian light dressing, with mashed tatoes and green beans. It was yum! I don't think I've made it that way in awhile, it was a nice change from Shake N Bake. My dessert this evening was a 100 cal minibag of popcorn to end my day at 1213 calories.

Output: as aforementioned, today is my half day this week (Friday will be my full rest day before the weekend) so this evening I did 30 minutes of cardio dance. I needed the music time too to destress from everything going on with D, so that helped a LOT. Tomorrow, its back to walking, yay!
